Deadmau5 Remixes The Foo Fighters

Deadmau5 has released his remix of the Foo Fighters’ song, Rope.

The Foo Fighters released the original song “Rope” back on March 1, 2011. It performed exceptionally in the charts, especially for a rock song. It had been the only second ever song to début at number one (Linkin Park’s “The Catalyst”). It had also remained there for 20 consecutive weeks, almost for half a year after it was released. It includes two guitar layers, with only one playing in the verse. The overall style of the song is bread and butter for rock music, a very raw, energy-filling sound for the verse with an emotional appeal with the chorus.

It includes two guitar layers, with only one playing in the verse. The overall style of the song is bread and butter for rock music, a very raw, energy-filling sound for the verse with an emotional appeal with the chorus. It’s almost as if the verse wraps the warm-hearted part with masculinity in order to look cool yet still engage in emotions

Proud rock fans aren’t usually as keen on other genres as fans of other genres. However, the deadmau5 remix has succeeded in retaining the style of the Foo Fighters. The introduction is especially impressive, where deadmau5, instead of building the song from a slow pace, (common in progressive house music) starts quicker, similar to a rock song. After a one minute introduction section, the vocals come in. This is halfway with what the original song does (30 seconds) and a typical deadmau5 song may do (2 minutes). However,  The deadmau5 remix had significantly more bass on its guitars and drums. This is familiar to electronic fans.

Most of the samples he used in this remix are more authentic than what deadmau5 normally uses. The only electronic samples are small vocal samples and a short breakdown. This seems to create a bridge between house fans and rock fans.

All in all, the deadmau5 remix manages to keep the style and heart of the original rock song whilst still being a classic deadmau5 tune. And that’s what makes a good remix, right?

Hello! Quick question that’s totally off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My blog looks weird when browsing from my iphone4. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that
might be able to resolve this issue. If you have any suggestions, please share.
